Acquiring the ability for examination and treatment practices in pediatric patients
Diagnosis and treatment planning, restorative materials and application, diagnosis of eruption and developmental anomalies and implementation of prophylactic treatments in pediatric dentistry
| 1. | Assesses the caries risk level in pediatric patients using medical and dental history, clinical examination, and radiographic findings, and develops an individualized preventive treatment plan. |
| 2. | Performs cavity preparation, material selection, and restorative procedures in primary teeth in accordance with the principles of patient safety, isolation, and infection control. |
| 3. | Evaluates the indications for fissure sealants and topical fluoride applications in pediatric patients and performs these procedures in accordance with the principles of preventive dentistry. |
| 4. | Evaluates the indications for primary tooth extraction, the need for local anesthesia, and potential complications in pediatric patients, and performs the extraction using an ethical, safe, and patient-centered approach. |
| 5. | Establishes effective communication with pediatric patients and their parents during clinical practice; manages the procedures performed, patient records, and required information and consent processes in accordance with professional ethics and legal responsibilities. |
