To have knowledge about literature search in general and special scientific fields, to be able to search literature, to be able to read and interpret literature, to reach different and many original sources, to reach current literature, to distinguish the consistency and consistency of the literature with the research subject, the information obtained from the literature to be able to discuss and analyze data, to produce original ideas in accordance with the information obtained, to synthesize data and information and to transfer what they have learned in a systematic way.

This course aims to provide dental students with fundamental knowledge and skills in accessing scientific literature, conducting literature searches, critically appraising scientific evidence, and making evidence-based clinical decisions. The course covers formulating research questions using the PICO framework, identifying keywords, developing effective literature search strategies in scientific databases, critically evaluating scientific articles, interpreting levels of evidence, reference management, citation styles, and academic publication ethics. In addition, through both theoretical and practical activities, students gain experience in literature synthesis and review article preparation, thereby enhancing their scientific reasoning and lifelong learning skills.
