Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to learn the fundamental principles of evidence-based dentistry, develop skills in accessing and critically evaluating scientific literature, and apply current and reliable scientific evidence in clinical decision-making processes.

Course Content

This course covers the definition, history, and principles of evidence-based dentistry; formulation of clinical questions; use of scientific databases; literature search strategies; study designs; systematic reviews and meta-analyses; critical appraisal of scientific articles; levels of evidence; clinical guidelines; integration of evidence into clinical practice; ethical principles; and application of current evidence in dental practice.
