Objectives of the Course

It is aimed to teach the basic concepts in economics, the economic reasons underlying the decisions of individuals and firms and the functioning of the free market mechanism; to explain macroeconomic factors such as national income, inflation, employment and to establish the connection between economic events.

Course Content

Economic reasoning, basic concepts. Supply, demand and market equilibrium. Behaviours of consumers and producers. Market structure: Perfect competition and monopol. National income and inflation. Long run analysis. Economic growth, total factor productivity. AD-AS Model. Short run analysis. Business cycle and unemployment. Fiscal policy and monetary policy.
