Objectives of the Course

To provide information to the students about body image, brain development, and motor performance, the periods of motor development, the affecting factors of development, the evaluation of physical growth, the evaluation of motor development, supporting studies of motor development, applicable to home-school and open spaces children's specific exercise programs, and environmental regulatory matters.

Course Content

The course covers fundamental topics in motor development, body image and age-appropriate body image, problems related to body image, physical growth and growth percentiles, practices to support physical growth, basic concepts related to motor development, the motor development process and characteristics in children aged 0-18 years (infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence), factors affecting motor development; identification and evaluation of motor skills and examination of proficiency concepts in motor skills; monitoring the motor development of children aged 0-18 years. Examples of practices that support motor development in indoor and outdoor settings, material use, and environmental design will also be included.
