Objectives of the Course

This course aims to explain fundamental language skills and the components of language in early childhood, to introduce language learning theories, to analyze language acquisition factors, to explain early literacy skills, to emphasize the importance of supporting language development according to age, to describe language and speech disorders, to explain language development in infants and newborns, to explain the language development process in preschool children, and to introduce language learning difficulties.

Course Content

Defining fundamental concepts related to language development, language learning theories, age-specific language development in early childhood, factors for language acquisition. Components of language (Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics). Assessment of language development.
