Objectives of the Course

Providing knowledge about hearing impairment, causes and development of hearing impaired children

Course Content

Speech and communication (importance of speech and language in communication, sound, sound source, transmission of sound, sound waves, wavelength, frequency, sound pressure, sound power, sensitivity of the ear, definition of decibel, speech), Hearing physiology (structure and functioning of the ear , outer ear, middle ear, inner ear, auditory center, development of auditory behavior, prenatal hearing, postnatal hearing, auditory behavior in pre-linguistic activities, mother-infant interaction and its effect on language development), hearing impairment (classifications in hearing impairment according to their degree Hearing loss, hearing loss according to their types, causes of hearing loss, measurement of hearing, hearing screening, hearing aids), developmental characteristics of children with hearing impairment (motor development, perceptual development, cognitive development, language development, social emotional development), children with hearing impairment educational interventions (educational methods used, methods used in language education, journaling in education, individual training team and BEP, group education, mainstreaming), materials and activities used in the education of children with hearing impairment.
