To teach characteristics of language and speech disorders
Basic concepts in speech and language disorders and general evaluation of development-communication language and speech disorders in children, differences between speech and language disorders, explanation of developmental language disorders.

| 1. | Students learn the fundamental differences between language disorders and speech disorders. |
| 2. | Students become aware of the concepts of “Receptive language-Expressive language-Delayed language-Overregularization-Incomplete regularization” covered in the speech and language disorders course and the changes that occur in language development in children during critical periods between the ages of 0 and 6. |
| 3. | Students learn what language disorders are and what speech disorders are. |
| 4. | Students learn about the speech and language disorders experienced by children with autism, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, and learning difficulties. |
| 5. | Students learn about developmental language disorders and theories of language learning. |
| 6. | Students learn about language, speech, and fluency disorders that can occur in bilingual and multilingual students. |
