Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with competencies related to the fundamental concepts of play, theories of play, types of play, the role of play in child development, as well as the planning and implementation of play activities, and the characteristics and development of play materials.

Course Content

Fundamental concepts related to play and the importance of play, the history of play, theories of play, the development of play, types of play, digital games, age- and developmentally appropriate games for children, the effects of play on developmental domains, methods of understanding children through play, the importance of play in addressing problems related to child development, play as a teaching method, examples of games for children in different age groups, the importance and characteristics of play materials, and examples of play materials for different developmental domains.
