The aim of this course is to teach the developmental processes of the nervous system and the brain in children, neurodevelopmental variations, the effects of developmental and neurological disorders on child development, and the role of child development specialists in assessment, intervention, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
This course covers the structure and development of the nervous system, brain development, neurological assessment, neurophysiological foundations of cognitive and behavioral processes, developmental milestones, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurological diseases, developmental screening and assessment procedures, the role of child development specialists within interdisciplinary teams, current neuroscience research, and the effects of technology, artificial intelligence, and environmental factors on brain development.
