Objectives of the Course

Comparative Analysis of accelerating urban processes and their economic and social consequences in terms of different approaches. Introducing space into economic models. Studying spatial investments in connection with the global economic crisis. Analysing the role of spatial investments in capital accumulation processes . Making the students aware of new approaches in the related literature.

Review of various approaches in urban economics, New International Division of Labour Theory and Global City: Saskia Sassen, Caglar Keyder, Land Use Patterns, Theories of Rent , Land Speculation and Zoning and Growth Controls,

5.Analyze the relations and contradictions between the city economy and the property institution.
