The English Language Education Division, affiliated with the Department of Foreign Language Education within the Faculty of Education at Aydın Adnan Menderes University, commenced its academic activities in the 2016–2017 academic year with the English Language Teaching Undergraduate Program (INO), where Turkish was the medium of instruction. The program admitted its first cohort of 50 students and was discontinued in 2026.
In the 2018–2019 academic year, an English-medium English Language Teaching Undergraduate Program (ENT) was launched within the Department with a quota of 60 students. This program has continued to operate successfully and currently serves as the Division’s primary undergraduate program.
Since its establishment, the English Language Education Division has demonstrated steady growth and development, carrying out its teaching, research, and community engagement activities on the main campus of Aydın Adnan Menderes University. The Division currently has three professors, one associate professor, and one assistant professor, and serves approximately 258 undergraduate students.
In line with its mission of preparing qualified English language teachers, the English Language Education Division embraces contemporary approaches to teacher education and prioritizes the development of disciplinary knowledge, pedagogical competence, research skills, and technological literacy among its students.

Mission
The mission of the English Language Teaching Undergraduate Program is to prepare qualified English language teachers who can effectively integrate disciplinary knowledge with pedagogical expertise, communicate effectively, uphold ethical and professional values, demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity, assume social responsibility, and engage in continuous professional development.
Grounded in contemporary theories and practices of English language education, the program adopts a research-informed and learner-centered approach to teacher education. It supports prospective teachers in developing competencies in critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, technology integration, and innovative instructional practices, thereby contributing to the foreign language education needs of both Türkiye and the global community.
Vision
The vision of the English Language Teaching Undergraduate Program is to become a leading and internationally recognized program in the field of English language education and teacher preparation, distinguished by excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement, and committed to innovation, quality, and sustainable development.
The program strives to foster educational environments that promote scholarly productivity, digital transformation, intercultural engagement, and strong stakeholder collaboration. Through these efforts, it aims to educate globally competent English language teachers who can adapt to evolving educational demands, demonstrate professional excellence, and contribute to the advancement of education at local, national, and international levels.
Purpose
The purpose of the English Language Teaching Undergraduate Program is to educate qualified English language teachers who possess strong disciplinary knowledge, pedagogical competence, and professional ethical values in accordance with the fundamental principles and objectives of the Turkish National Education System. The program aims to cultivate individuals who are capable of critical and creative thinking, inquiry and research, effective use of technology, and lifelong learning.
The program seeks to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to design and implement effective instructional practices across diverse learning environments, develop intercultural communicative competence, and follow contemporary scientific and technological developments in education while integrating them into their professional practice.
Furthermore, the program aims to prepare graduates not only for teaching positions in primary and secondary education but also for roles in higher education institutions, lifelong learning contexts, and various fields of language education. It aspires to develop educators and researchers who can contribute to the advancement of foreign language education at both national and international levels.
Physical Infrastructure
There are three-floored building, two-floored additional building and a building having the classrooms of the students of music department. There are a conference hall and two meetings rooms. There are 45 rooms and an all-purpose recreation room for faculty staff. In addition to this, there are a storehouse, an archive room and a buttery outside whose owners are in private sector. Moreover, our university has a central building and this building has six classes for 100 students, two classes for 150 students, thirty classes for 50 students, a class for 500 students and a cafeteria for 500 students. Additionally, there is an exhibition and activity area for 1000 people at the entrance of building and there are many rooms with an area of 6000 square meters for both students and staff. There are facilities for both disabled students and staff in the building having seven lifts.
There are 20 classes for graduate students, 2 art studios, 4 classes for music lessons, 2 classes for postgraduate students, 1 science lab, 2 physics labs, 1 computer lab, 1 class doe drama lessons, 1 class for the students of pre-school teaching, 1 paint shop, 20 individual insulated music room, 9 individual rooms with piano, and 1 orchestra-chorus class.
Technical Infrastructure
Our faculty’s classrooms have all kinds of equipment such as projectors, interactive boards, and speakers for our students. Also, our computer lab with 75 square meters usage area has 40 computers.
