Objectives of the Course

It is aimed to carry out studies on the construction of gender in the sports environment and to raise awareness by transferring information that provides equality to students in environments where sports strengthen gender inequality.

Course Content

The gender order has developed in a way that enables men to take advantage of women's advantageous position and to benefit from more opportunities in sports environments as in every field. The historically constructed power relations between men and women are also clearly seen in the field of sports. The ideological process that legitimizes women's sports experience within the gender order, the biological difference between men and women, and the idea of male superiority created by this difference will always be more dominant. It is also very important to take legal and social measures to eliminate the difficulties faced by individuals who want to take advantage of the opportunities to do sports in their childhood, based on the right of everyone with or without talent to do sports.
