Objectives of the Course

The purpose of the Tourism Economics course is to provide undergraduate students with a comprehensive understanding of the economic principles and analytical tools applicable to the tourism industry. By the end of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the economic aspects of tourism, enabling them to analyze and interpret tourism data, formulate strategies for tourism development, and contribute to sustainable tourism practices in both academic and professional settings.

Course Content

This course provides a solid foundation in the fundamental economic theories and concepts relevant to the tourism industry, including supply and demand, market structures, and economic impact analysis. Some key topics to be covered are as follows: investigation of the factors influencing tourism demand and supply, understanding how these factors affect tourism flows and business operations, and discussion of the role of government in policy design in the tourism sector.
