The aim of this course is to develop students’ academic writing, critical thinking, and scientific research skills. The course is designed to enable students to understand the structure of academic texts, apply appropriate referencing styles, critically evaluate scientific sources, and prepare research proposals and scholarly papers in the field of tourism management in accordance with ethical principles and academic standards.
This course covers academic writing and critical thinking, the academic writing process and techniques, access to academic sources, referencing styles (APA, Chicago, Harvard, and MLA), the structure of academic texts, literature review and synthesis, evaluation of research methods, writing findings, discussion, and conclusion sections, as well as academic article analysis and research proposal preparation. Throughout the course, students examine academic studies in the field of tourism and develop their critical writing and analytical skills.
