Objectives of the Course

This lesson helps students understand the basic issues, concepts and theories of the social anthropology, and assess the cultural diversity by focusing especially to today’s populations.

In this course, the student of social anthropology and social differences are the main issues.

1.To be able to define and to realize the importance of anthropology in terms of nursing
2.To be able to explain the basic concepts of anthropology
3.To be able to distinguish the difference between Sociological approaches to health and illness and biological (social constructivist) approach
4.to be able to establish the relationship between health and disease with Cultural values
5.To be able to Discuss health and disease in the context of social inequalities
6.To be able to explain the different health systems
7.To be able to analyze the health implications of globalization through government policies.
8.To be able to Explain the interaction between culture and nursing
9.To be able to notice the effects of culture in Nursing care planning and to take into account the cultural features while planning nursing care
