Objectives of the Course

Basic economic principle used for examining economic cases is questioning by examining research methods and theories at bachelor’s degree level, and implementing general economics and neo-classic economics theories’ epistemological and methodological fundamentals and science philosophy in economics. In short; it is aimed to raise the awareness of the students about economics.

Course Content

Concept of method, the importance of methods in science, major scientific methods, methodology in economics, scientific explanations, theories, model assumption, method discussions, Positivism, logical positivists, analytical- synthetic proposal separation, critical fluency, positive economics, normative economics, internal and external factors affecting the method, leading schools and methods of economics, uncertainty and exteriority problems, methodological problems in Turkish education of economics.
