Mission
The mission of the Department of Social Studies Education is to adhere to Atatürk's principles and reforms, to respect human rights and freedoms, to internalize democracy, to defend the rule of law, to stand against all kinds of discrimination, to be sensitive to nature, to understand the place of himself and his profession in social development, to gain professional competence and ethical responsibility, To train social studies teachers who perceive continuous improvement as a way of life, adopt scientific thinking, protect the public interest, use information and communication technologies effectively, and think creatively and critically.
Vision
The vision of the Department of Social Studies Education is to contribute to the production of knowledge through theoretical and applied research in the field of Social Studies; to analyze the educational problems of the society in a multidimensional way on the basis of individuals' education rights, social justice, equality and respect for human rights, and to develop innovative solutions to these problems; to share its knowledge with the national and international academic community, public and private institutions, non-governmental organizations and individuals.
