Objectives of the Course

It is aimed that these course students can use psychoeducation and psychoeducation methods effectively which is an integral part of the student's psychiatric treatment plan which provides the active participation of patients and family members in their care, and provides the necessary knowledge in providing treatment for the illness and treatment.

Course Content

This course contains related topics; informing about psychiatric illness, referral and treatment, reducing the severity of symptoms and comorbidities, developing family and interpersonal relationships, reducing extreme emotion expression, early diagnosis and treatment, prevention or reduction of relapses by teaching the early indications to family and the patient, improving social functionality.

1.To be able to make a care plan in the direction of nursing process to individual with mental disorder.
2.To know the treatment methods used in the field of mental health and psychiatry
3.Know and practice mental health services and nursing responsibilities
4.Discussing the practices of consultation and liaison psychiatric nursing in general hospitals
5.Knowing and practicing Psychiatric Emergencies and Psychiatric Emergency Nursing works
6.To be able to discuss the functions of the mental health and illness nurse and Develop take an active role manner for solving mental health problems in Community Mental Health Services
