The aim of the course is learning adaptation mechanisms of xerophytic mosses.
It is known that most of the mosses are hydrolabile (poikilohydric). Apart from not having developed organ systems, they get water directly from their environment. They go to dormant state paralel with the decrease in water level. Especially xeric mosses developed different mechanisms to compete with this long dry period. These mecanism will be defined during the courses.
