Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide comprehensive information about extra-nuclear inheritance in plants, extra-nuclear inheritance in fungi, infectious inheritance, organelle genome, mitochondrial genes in yeast, chloroplast and mitochondrial mutations, mitochondrial diseases and plasmids in eukaryotes.

Course Content

Maternal inheritance, endosymbiotic theory, genetic structure of chloroplasts and mitochondria, infection type inheritance and symbiotic or parasitic lives with microorganisms.
