Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to introduce biopesticides developed as alternatives to synthetic pesticides, providing information on their classification, production, application methods, and environmental impacts. Additionally, the future of biopesticides in light of biotechnological advancements will be discussed.

Course Content

This course focuses on biopesticides as environmentally and human health-friendly alternatives in agricultural pest management. The content includes the classification, mechanisms of action, production, and formulation techniques of biopesticides, as well as application strategies. Various types of biopesticides, including microbial (bacteria, fungi, viruses), botanical, and behavioral biopesticides, as well as entomopathogenic nematodes, are comprehensively examined. Furthermore, the registration, application areas, environmental effects, and potential future applications of biopesticides in sustainable agriculture are discussed in the context of biotechnological advancements.
