Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop the ability to make a certain awareness and analysis of the historical roots of social, economic, cultural and political issues in the world and in Turkey through discussions on the current situation and proposals for solutions

Course Content

In the context of the course, the relationship between current issues of Turkey and global or international problems will be examined in sociological context. The main topics are as follows:the historical background of current political, economic, social and cultural issues at the global and local level; current status, perception and interpretation of these issues; relating current problems to global and local scale; case studies and analysis.

2.To be able to define and understand the main current issues of Turkey and global worldin the modern and postmodern era.
3.To have an advanced level of knowledge in current issues of Turkey and global worldand to be able to relate it to current social theory.
4.To be able to comprehend the changing nature and change dynamics of the phenomena and concepts studied from the modern era to the postmodern revolution.
5.To improve the ability to demonstrate a critical and objective approach in analyzing the main current issues of Turkey and global world
