The aim of this course is to enable students to systematically analyze qualitative research data, apply different qualitative data analysis techniques, and conduct scientific research using MAXQDA software.
This course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge for the systematic analysis of qualitative research data. The course covers the philosophical foundations of qualitative research, data types, validity and reliability criteria, and ethical principles; and examines common qualitative data analysis techniques such as content analysis, thematic analysis, descriptive analysis, document analysis, discourse analysis, narrative analysis, and phenomenological analysis. Furthermore, analysis processes are evaluated through examples of qualitative research conducted in the fields of tourism, gastronomy, and hospitality. The practical section of the course focuses on the use of computer-aided qualitative data analysis software, where data transfer, coding, theme development, relationship analysis, visualization, and reporting processes are carried out practically. Thus, students develop the ability to analyze and interpret qualitative research data in accordance with scientific methods and to report research results in accordance with academic standards.
