Objectives of the Course

To understand the concept of sexual development and education and to use it effectively in working age groups and to provide guidance to the families and professional about the subject.

Course Content

Theories of sexual development; sexual development and education in preschool, elementary school, adolescent and adulthood; problems experienced in sexual development process; the factors that play a role in the sexual development process, and suggestions for the family in the process of sexual education.

1.Explains the concepts of sex, sexuality, and sexual education from a lifelong developmental perspective.
2.Compares theories of sexual development and the characteristics of sexual development across different developmental stages.
3.Develops sexual education programs appropriate for preschool, elementary school, and adolescent populations.
4.Evaluates sexuality-related behaviors and potential problem situations observed during childhood and adolescence.
5.Analyzes the effects of environmental factors, including family, educators, peers, and media, on sexual development.
6.Examines scientific research in the field of sexual development and education and applies the findings to practice and field studies.
