Objectives of the Course

To learn what is the usual and unusual behavioral problems in the developmental process and what are the basic criteria for distinguishing these problems; to understand the types and causes of behavioral problems seen in the home and school environment and in society and to be able to present solution proposals.

Course Content

The causes of behavioral disorders, the process of diagnosis, classification, monitoring and prevention of children will be emphasized in children.

1.Explains the fundamental concepts, classification systems, and diagnostic processes of behavioral disorders in children.
2.Analyzes the prevalence of behavioral disorders in children and the biological, psychological, and environmental risk factors contributing to their development.
3.Evaluates and compares the characteristics of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, conduct disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
4.Interprets the relationships between behavioral disorders and developmental conditions such as cognitive delays, learning disabilities, language disorders, and autism.
5.Critically evaluates family-centered support, interdisciplinary teamwork, and intervention approaches for children with behavioral disorders.
6.Designs preventive and early intervention programs for behavioral disorders based on scientific evidence and develops implementation recommendations.
