This course aims to enable students to evaluate, from a scientific and practical perspective, the process of preparing for parenthood, parenting competencies, the impact of current social and cultural changes on parenting, the principles of guiding children at different age stages, the basic techniques used in child guidance, and also parental self-care and well-being.
The course will cover the concept of parenthood, preparation for parenthood, the transformation of parental roles, effective parenting competencies, contemporary parenting challenges, family diversity, parental guidance according to child development stages, communication and guidance techniques, setting boundaries, positive discipline and behavior management, approaches to problematic behaviors, parenting in the digital age, and parental self-care processes.
