Examine the prominent research trends, methodological innovations, and application areas in the field of child development over the last five to ten years, and develop students' critical evaluation skills of current scientific literature.
Current research trends over the last five to ten years include executive functions, self-regulation, digital technologies, screen use, artificial intelligence and children, play research, social-emotional learning and mental health, current trends in family studies, children's rights and participation, migration, children in disasters and crises, sustainable development and children, and preventive intervention studies.
| 1. | Analyze contemporary research topics, theoretical perspectives, and emerging scientific trends in the field of child development from a critical perspective. |
| 2. | Evaluate and interpret current research findings related to executive functions, self-regulation, play, social-emotional learning, family studies, children's rights, and digital technologies in child development. |
| 3. | Compare and critically evaluate quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research approaches used in contemporary child development studies. |
| 4. | Discuss the effects of contemporary social issues, including migration, disasters, crises, sustainable development, and digital transformation, on child development through an interdisciplinary perspective. |
