Objectives of the Course

The course aims to investigate the molecular and genetic basis of neurodegenerative diseases.

Course Content

The course will investigate the molecular and genetic basis of neurodegenerative diseases. The production and regulation of biomolecules, biomolecules responsible for the generation and regulation of neuronal structure and function, ß-amyloid hypothesis and Taupathies, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), Creutzfeldt-Jakob and prion protein diseases, axonal transport injuries, misfolding and aggregation of proteins leading to diseases, oxidative alterations and mitochondrial disorders in neurodegenerative diseases and treatment approaches will be presented.
