Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to know how to sanctuaries occurred and developed. The objectives of the course are to have an information to able to make comment about structures and the locations of them in sanctuaries and explain the relationship between religious and political centers and their arrangements.

Course Content

Anatolian sacred areas, their arrangement, the structures they include and the system followed in placing these inner structures will be explained. The religious and political relations between the sacred areas and closer cities will be discussed.

1.1. Have knowledge about sacred pools and water monuments.
2.2. To give an example of religious centers this had long period construction phases.
3.3. Have knowledge about temple and sacred places which architects are known.
4.4. Know arrangements of sacred places in the small village settlements
5.5. Explain re-arrangement of the old cult center for the particular emperor.
6.6. Shed light on different comments about arrangements of sacred places
7.7. Have general knowledge and accumulation of sacred place excavation process.
8.8. Able to give scientific explanation about structures and architectural finds of sacred places.
