In this course, students gain knowledge and skills related to first aid applications and measures to be taken at the scene of unexpected and sudden situations such as accidents, illnesses, and disasters that may be encountered in daily life, with the aim of protecting and sustaining the lives of individuals or groups.
The definition, basic principles, purpose, and legal aspects of first aid and emergency care are explained. Situations requiring first aid, accidents, and injuries are described. Patient and injured people transport techniques and basic life support are demonstrated. Methods of responding to shock, poisoning, and insect bites are taught. The maneuver to be applied in case of airway obstruction is explained.
