Objectives of the Course

The primary objective of this course is to provide students with the theoretical foundation and practical analytical skills necessary to enable a modern business to manage its financial resources in the most efficient manner and to maintain cash balance and liquidity during periods of crisis. Within the scope of the course, starting with the functioning of the financial environment and financial institutions, the management of operational processes such as working capital, accounts receivable, and inventory financing is covered, while the selection of short- and long-term financing sources and the establishment of an optimal capital structure are examined. In addition, the logic of stock valuation is taught through dividend approaches such as the zero-growth model and the bird-in-the-hand theory; portfolio theory is used to establish the risk-return trade-off, while derivative markets are examined from a strategic perspective to demonstrate how businesses can protect themselves against financial risks (hedging).
