The aim of the Zero Waste and Sustainability course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge and awareness of environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and the zero-waste approach. The course aims to enable students to evaluate carbon footprint, circular economy, product life cycle, renewable energy, energy efficiency, green transformation, and sustainable production practices, as well as develop solutions to reduce environmental impacts.
This course covers the concepts of zero waste and sustainability, environmental problems and climate change, carbon footprint management, circular economy, resource efficiency, waste management and recycling systems, product life cycle and life cycle assessment, green manufacturing and cleaner production technologies, green transformation practices, renewable energy resources, energy management and energy efficiency, sustainable supply chains and green logistics, environmental management systems, sustainability standards, the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in sustainability applications, as well as zero-waste projects and industrial applications.
