Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with the ability to prepare manufacturing (detail) drawings of machine components in accordance with technical drawing standards, to correctly apply dimensional and geometrical tolerances, surface finish symbols, and manufacturing symbols, and to develop competencies in preparing assembly drawings, exploded views, part numbering systems, and bills of materials.

Course Content

This course covers the preparation of manufacturing (detail) drawings of machine components, creation of views, dimensioning, addition of surface finish symbols, application of welding symbols, dimensional, positional and geometrical tolerances, and preparation of title blocks and technical documentation. In addition, the course includes the preparation of machine assembly drawings, assembly views, exploded views, part numbering systems, and bills of materials (BOM) through practical applications. The importance and use of machine part detail and assembly drawings in quality control processes are covered within the scope of this course.
