Objectives of the Course

To develop the skills to communicate effectively with the individual, manage challenging behaviors, and plan care processes in cases of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia.

Course Content

This course addresses the cognitive, behavioral, and psychosocial characteristics of individuals with dementia, as well as effective communication techniques, care processes, the management of challenging behaviors, safety measures, and approaches to collaborating with families.

1.It explains the types and stages of dementia, as well as the fundamental cognitive, behavioral, and psychosocial changes observed in individuals with dementia.
2.Applies fundamental communication techniques and care approaches used in communicating effectively with individuals with dementia.
3.Develops appropriate solutions for issues such as refusal of care, agitation, aggression, and repetitive behaviors observed in individuals with dementia.
4.Plans and implements care practices aimed at supporting the safety, independence, and quality of life of individuals with dementia.
5.Evaluates the importance of patient rights, ethical principles, cooperation with the family, and teamwork in dementia care.
