Objectives of the Course

The aim is to introduce technological applications that support the independence, safety, health, and quality of life of older adults, and to foster knowledge and awareness regarding the effective use of current technologies, smart systems, and innovative care approaches in elderly care.

Course Content

This course covers the concept of gerontechnology, age-friendly design principles, smart home systems, fall-prevention technologies, wearable health technologies, telehealth applications, technology use for dementia and Alzheimer's patients, robot-assisted care applications, mobile health applications, AI-supported care systems, smart care centers, and current technological developments in elderly care.

1.It explains the fundamental concepts regarding age-friendly technology, gerontechnology, and smart care applications.
2.It identifies technological applications that support the independent living, safety, and quality of life of older individuals.
3.It evaluates current information technologies, mobile health applications, and smart systems used in elderly care based on their intended purposes.
4.Selects technological solutions suited to the needs of older individuals and develops recommendations for their use in care processes.
5.It evaluates the ethical, social, and professional dimensions of using technology in elderly care.
