Objectives of the Course

To gain the necessary knowledge and skills for health protection and promote of family, fetus and newborn.

Course Content

Female and male reproductive organs, mammary glands, reproductive system physiology, human embryology, pregnancy and nursing care, changes in pregnant women, signs of pregnancy, family planning, birth and nursing care, nurses approach at the childbirth, risk situations in the childbirth, the postpartum period and pregnancy, the postpartum period problems, gynecological examinations and tests, abnormalities of the reproductive organs, benign and malignant tumors of the genital organs and the approach to nursing care, surgery of the reproductive organs.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explains the anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive systems, the physiological changes occurring during pregnancy, and key concepts affecting women's health.
2.Plans and implements evidence-based nursing care by assessing the individual's needs during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and the neonatal stage.Explain the definition, purpose and extent of safe motherhood services
3.Determines appropriate nursing interventions by assessing risks, obstetric complications, and fetal/neonatal issues that may arise during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
4.Plans preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care for gynecological diseases, genital infections, sexually transmitted infections, fertility regulation, and female cancers.
5.Fulfills professional responsibilities in women's health and disease nursing practice in accordance with ethical principles, patient safety, effective communication, and a multidisciplinary team approach.
