Objectives of the Course

Oral and dental health diseases and care course; It aims to make students understand the importance of oral and dental health and to recognize the equipment used in care. It aims to provide effective care to patients by raising awareness about the factors that negatively affect oral and dental health in various diseases.

Course Content

Courses will be organized for first year university students in the spring term, as part of the elective course program, for 15 weeks, with two course hours per week. Goal; students should have knowledge about oral and dental health diseases and be able to give appropriate care to patients.

Learning Outcomes
1.The student knows the role of the mouth and teeth, comprehends the importance.
2.To learn the diseases of the mouth and salivary glands and to make appropriate interventions for the patients. Recognition and management of oral health diseases encountered in patients with swallowing difficulties and stroke.
3.Recognizing and caring for oral and dental health diseases in children. Knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition. Learning the factors affecting oral and dental health in patients who cannot be fed orally, performing appropriate care interventions
4.To learn the risk factors of oral and dental health diseases encountered during pregnancy, to carry out their care and to give trainings on the subject to pregnant women.
5.The student's knowledge of oral and dental health problems in elderly patients and providing appropriate care.Learning neoplastic diseases. Providing appropriate oral care for cancer patients
