Objectives of the Course

Students should have knowledge in the care of oncological and hematological diseases and be able to perform their care-related skills appropriately.

Course Content

The care course in oncological and hematological diseases aims to provide students with knowledge about blood and blood diseases and to develop care approaches for cancer patients. By ensuring that students understand the expectations of patients correctly; helps them to realize their knowledge and skills in the relevant field appropriately.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explain the basic concepts, etiology, diagnostic methods and clinical features of hematopoiesis, hemostasis, blood components, hematological and oncological diseases.
2.Determine the care needs of patients with hematological and oncological diseases based on assessment findings and develop an evidence-based care plan.
3.Plan and evaluate safe care practices in blood transfusion, apheresis, cancer treatments, symptom management and oncological emergencies.
4.Use current scientific evidence related to cancer prevention, screening and early diagnosis to educate patients and families and contribute effectively to multidisciplinary teamwork.
5.Develop appropriate solutions for problems encountered during hematological and oncological care in accordance with ethical principles, patient rights and professional responsibilities.
