Objectives of the Course

Medical device technologies and use course students aim to have knowledge about the use of devices that they will encounter frequently in the hospital environment and home care services used in various diseases. The course assists students in providing care to patients and training patients and relatives in the use of devices.

Course Content

Courses will be organized for second year university students in the spring term, for 15 weeks, within the scope of the elective course program, with two course hours per week. Goal; students learn the use of medical devices used in hospital and home care and provide effective care to patients.

1.The student learns the medical devices used to evaluate the patient's vital signs and can follow the patient.
2.To know the medical devices used for diagnosis
3.Knowing how and why the devices used in treatments are used, ensuring the effective use of devices while giving care to patients.
4.To have knowledge about the calibration of medical devices.
5.To prevent dangers and to know the methods of protection by considering the warning signs of medical devices.

Evaluation of the patient's vital signs; blood pressure monitors, thermometers, saturation devices, bedside monitors

Ensuring airway patency; airway and ambu applications, aspiration systems
