Objectives of the Course

The aim is for the student to acquire general knowledge regarding leadership in healthcare institutions.

Course Content

This course covers topics such as leadership and management, sources of power in leadership, leadership theories, trait theory, behavioral theories, contingency theories, modern leadership theories, leadership and motivation, and emotional intelligence and leadership.

1.Explains and critically compares leadership and management concepts, leadership theories, power sources, and motivation approaches within the context of healthcare management.
2.Analyzes leadership and management problems encountered in healthcare organizations and develops appropriate leadership approaches, decision-making processes, and evidence-based solution strategies.
3.Demonstrates leadership skills through effective communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, ethical principles, and quality management while fulfilling professional responsibilities in healthcare settings.
4.Integrates information technologies, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications into leadership processes to improve patient safety, quality of care, and care coordination in healthcare organizations.
5.Coordinates multidisciplinary teamwork in home healthcare services by considering patients' care needs, environmental conditions, legal responsibilities, and support systems while maintaining lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
