Objectives of the Course

To teach the fundamental concepts of environmental biology, the causes of environmental pollution, and the effects of environmental problems on living organisms; and to raise students’ awareness of natural resource conservation, environmental consciousness, sustainability, and climate change.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental concepts of environmental biology, ecosystem and environmental components, environmental protection principles, environmental pollution and its types, air, water, and soil pollution, acid rain, the atmosphere and ozone layer, global warming, the greenhouse effect, climate change and possible scenarios, international climate conferences, erosion and desertification, forest ecosystems, noise, visual and radioactive pollution, and sustainable environmental management.
