Objectives of the Course

To explain the concepts of ethics, morality, and professional ethics; to develop the ability to evaluate ethical issues that may arise in laboratory studies; and to foster awareness among students to act in accordance with ethical principles during sample acceptance, analysis, record keeping, and reporting processes.

Course Content

This course covers the concepts of ethics, morality, and values; ethical principles, ethical dilemmas, and ethical decision-making processes; the relationship between culture and ethics; ethical behavior in laboratory settings, professional ethics, and ethical gray areas; principles of laboratory reliability, impartiality, and confidentiality; professional ethics in sample acceptance, analysis, and reporting processes; data integrity, record keeping, and accuracy of results; as well as ethical violations and case studies in laboratory practices.
