Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge about the raw materials, plant-derived active ingredients, and basic formulation principles used in natural cosmetic products. The course aims to equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the development, formulation, production processes, quality control, and safe use of natural cosmetic products, while enabling them to gain hands-on experience in preparing various cosmetic formulations.

Course Content

This course covers the concept of natural cosmetics, cosmetic regulations, plant-based raw materials, essential oils, fixed oils, hydrolates, clays, and natural additives used in cosmetic products. Formulation principles of creams, lotions, ointments, serums, toners, masks, and lip balms are discussed. Throughout the course, students perform practical studies on the preparation, quality evaluation, packaging, and storage of natural cosmetic products.

Introduction to natural cosmetics, classification of cosmetic products, and overview of the natural cosmetics industry.

Cosmetic regulations, safety assessments, and ethical production principles.

Introduction to fixed oils, essential oils, hydrolates, and natural raw materials.

Auxiliary substances, emulsifiers, and preservatives used in natural cosmetics.
