Objectives of the Course

The purpose of this course is to describe the basic characteristics, principles, gains, indicators and environmental characteristics of the 3-6 year old pre-school education program implemented in Turkey, to know program activities and the forms to be used in program, to plan, implement and assessment monthly education plan, daily education flow and activity plan.

Course Content

Importance, basic principles and elements of educational program, historical development process of Turkish preschool education programs, basic features of Turkish preschool education program, gains, indicators and characteristics of learning environment, program activities and the forms used in the program, planning (monthly plan, daily plan and activity plan), applying, and assessment; applied studies in classroom related to preschool education program

Learning Outcomes
1.Knows the objectives and basic principles of the preschool education program.
2.Knows the skill, process component, learning and sub-learning outcomes.
3.Knows the field skills included in the preschool education program.
4.Have knowledge of social-emotional learning skills, conceptual skills, dispositions, the Virtue-Value-Action Model, literacy skills, concepts, guidance and psychological counseling services in early childhood education, and differentiation within the curriculum
5.Knowledge of the planning and implementation of the preschool education program, play in early childhood education, monthly education plans, daily plans, start-of-the-day routines, types of activities, and family/community involvement activities.
6.Knows how to recognize, evaluate and report on children in the pre-school education program.
7.Knows characteristics of learning environment.
