Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge about the history, prevalence, types of institutions and programs, educational environments, family involvement, inclusion of children with special needs, and teacher training systems in early childhood education across different countries, within the context of global education systems.

Course Content

This course examines the general structure of education systems in different countries, providing an overview of the history and prevalence of early childhood education across diverse contexts. It explores various types of early childhood institutions and program models implemented internationally. The course also includes a comparative analysis of educational environments in terms of their physical and pedagogical features. Furthermore, it discusses family involvement practices and the inclusion of children with special needs in early childhood education across countries. Finally, students are introduced to different approaches and models of early childhood teacher education systems around the world, aiming to develop a global perspective on current trends in the field.
