Objectives of the Course

The importance of the family and the value of the child in Turkish culture, child rearing attitudes.

Course Content

Turkish family structure; raising and value of children in different Turkish states; Family culture, traditions and customs in Anatolia; nuclear family interaction with extended family; marriage ceremonies, funeral ceremonies, roles and duties of family counselor sensitive to communal culture.
