Objectives of the Course

The aim of the Energy Economics course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the economic analysis of energy resources and the functioning of energy markets. The course covers basic concepts such as energy markets, energy pricing, energy policies, and environmental issues related to energy. Students are expected to be able to evaluate the basic principles of energy economics, the dynamics of energy markets, and sustainable energy policies.

Course Content

The Energy Economics course covers topics such as energy sources and classification, energy markets such as coal, oil, natural gas, and renewable energy, energy and environment interaction, global warming and climate change, and international climate change agreements.

1.Students will understand the dynamics of energy markets.
2.Students will be able to evaluate the economic and environmental impacts of different energy sources.
3.Students will develop an awareness of climate change and relate it to economics.
4.Students will be able to analyze energy markets and policies using theoretical models and analysis tools related to energy economics.
5.Students will be able to understand and evaluate carbon emissions and the main policies used to mitigate climate change.
