Objectives of the Course

The primary aim of this course is to equip International Relations students with digital literacy skills and to ensure the effective use of digital tools in both academic and professional settings. The course covers the introduction and practical use of essential office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as up-to-date digital tools including open data sources, big data analysis, artificial intelligence applications, digital mapping, and open source intelligence (OSINT). Students will gain hands-on experience in the opportunities and analysis techniques brought by digitalization in international relations, and will develop competencies in data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation using digital skills. The course will also address the ethical, critical, and creative use of digital technologies, emphasizing their role in both professional and academic development.

Course Content

This course aims to enhance students’ digital literacy and enable them to use basic digital analysis tools effectively in the field of International Relations, taking into account the growing importance of digitalization. In addition to office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, the course will offer practical training in accessing international open data sources, big data analysis, artificial intelligence applications, digital mapping, and open source intelligence (OSINT) techniques. By the end of the course, students will be competent in collecting, analyzing, reporting, and presenting data in digital environments.
