Objectives of the Course

This course aims to explain the importance of biochemistry in the living organism, provide fundamental knowledge of nutritional biochemistry, describe the general properties of organic compounds and the biochemical properties of water and its role in nutrition, and cover the biochemistry and nutritional significance of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and hormones with examples related to animal nutrition

General Properties of Organic Compounds, Acid–Base Balance of the Body, and the Importance of pH/ Preparation of acid, base, and buffer solutions and pH measurement

Water Biochemistry and Its Importance in the Living Organism/ interpretation of water quality parameters

General Characteristics and Classification of Carbohydrates/ Qualitative identification of carbohydrates using standard biochemical tests
